  About Shenzhen  
Shenzhen is one of the four earliest special economic zones of China, neighboring Hong Kong only by a river.
She is one of the most important cities among Pearl River Delta megalopolises of China. She has an efficient economy, with GDP ranking the fourth and fiscal revenues ranking the third among large and medium cities of Mainland China. The city's import and export volume is 1/7 of that in Mainland China.
 
  City Modern logistics  
Modern logistics is one of the four pillar industries in Shenzhen.
Shenzhen is an important coastal traffic hub. She is the only city in China which has marine, land and air ports. Currently 12 ports of various types have been established to link the world. In 2004, the person-time for exit and entry of the ports reached 150,000,000, and the vehicle-time of exit and entry of ports was 13,360,000.
Shenzhen has two marine port areas, and has 53 wharf berths with a capacity of over ten thousand tons. It has opened 106 international container liner routes, and has formed an international container liner network covering the main ports in the world's 12 navigating areas. In 2004, Shenzhen ranked the 4th largest port in the world, and the throughput of port goods exceeded 135,000,000 tons, and the throughput of containers was up to 13,659,000 standard containers.
Shenzhen BaoAn International Airport is the 4th largest airport in China, the important hub of airfreight in South China. Currently it has opened 95 domestic flight courses and 14 international flight courses. In 2004, the transportation number of passengers in Shenzhen Airport was 14,244,500, and the throughput of transportation of airport goods was 495,400 tons.
Shenzhen has advanced roads, expressways and railways. The length of road is 1,800km, the length of expressways is 200km, and the density of road network is up to 0.75km/km2. Within 90 minutes' drive, either two of the airports in Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Macao and Zhuanhai can be reached. She is the exchange center of railways connecting Hong Kong and main cities in Mainland China.

Stage I of Shenzhen Metro was completed and put into operation by the end of 2004. New lines, such as line No. 4 is currently under construction, and it will connect Hong Kong Metro network in 2008. The west access expressway between Shenzhen and Hong Kong will also be completed in July of 2006.

Shenzhen is one of the China's most important tourist destinations. As a young, innovative and prosperous city, she has earned fame for beautiful theme parks, featured city scenes, seaside sightseeing and shopping malls.
